All of our therapists are selected very carefully for their qualifications, education and expertise. All have a Masters degree (or above) in counseling and many have additional specialty training certifications. We have a diverse staff and a variety of locations. Bi-lingual therapists are available as well as therapists proficient in American Sign Language. Our office staff will work closely with you to provide the best match for your needs in a location near you. Our success record for matching the right therapist with the right client is nearly 100%. However, if you dont feel the therapist is a good match, we will reschedule you with another therapist without the first visit counting against your allotted benefit.
Cultural Sensitivity
The population we serve today is very diverse in terms of race, religion, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation etc. At Far West Family services we respect and appreciate the diversity in our client base and are sensitive to cultural differences when working with our clients. If you have any concerns or questions about how your specific needs or issues might be addressed, please let us know and we will do whatever we can to accommodate you and match you with the right therapist for you. Our staff and therapists are highly trained regarding cultural issues and regardless of their own personal background, they will be helpful, supportive, and respectful to you and your family and customize your treatment plan so that it is consistent with your cultural beliefs and practices.
Religious Sensitivity
Many people are concerned that therapy will conflict with their religious values. Nothing could be further from the truth. We acknowledge and work closely with clients to honor their individual belief systems, just as we honor all forms of diversity. Rest assured that you can be completely open with your counselor about your religious beliefs and know you will be respected. Additionally, you can provide information to the counselor regarding how your religious beliefs are impacting your current situation so that together you can build a treatment plan that works with your religious values. Remember, counseling is about helping you reach your goals in a healthy way. |
